Cotentin Tourist Train – Portbail

The Cotentin Tourist Train is a heritage railway line that connects Portbail to Barneville-Carteret, in Normandy, on a section of the former Carentan-Carteret line. This 10 km journey allows you to discover the Norman bocage, picturesque hamlets, the Saint-Siméon chapel, and the Mère Denis washhouse.

  • The train mainly runs during the summer season, with regular departures on Sundays and public holidays, as well as special trains on Tuesdays and Thursdays to get to the Portbail or Carteret markets.

  • Family pass (2 adults + 2 children): €40 (reduced rate for groups of 10 or more)

The main stations are located in Portbail and Carteret. Toilets are available at the stations, and the train is equipped to transport items such as bicycles or strollers, subject to availability.
