Washed by the highest tides in Europe, the beaches of the Manche are full of a thousand and one treasures from the sea once the tide goes out. It’s on the foreshore—better known as vast stretches of sand—that shore fishermen gather when the tide is low.

No need for professional equipment to go fishing; in Normandy, you can enjoy low tide to go shore fishing (velvet crabs, edible crabs, lobsters, gray shrimp, and various shellfish).
